Journal ArticleDOI
Lowering of Dimensionality in Phase Transitions with Random Fields
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the critical exponents of a phase transition in a $d$-dimensional system with short-range exchange and a random quenched field are the same as those of a ($d\ensuremath{-}2$)-dimensional pure system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Critical dynamics of ferromagnets in 6 − ε dimensions: General discussion and detailed calculation
Shang-keng Ma,Gene F. Mazenko +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the critical dynamics of a model ferromagnet in 6 or more dimensions were studied and a renormalization-group analysis was carried out to determine the dynamic exponent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Calculation of Dynamic Critical Properties Using Wilson's Expansion Methods
TL;DR: In this paper, the dynamic critical behavior of a continuum analog of the kinetic Ising model is studied using a generalization of Wilson's expansion methods, and results are found which disagree with the mode-mode coupling approach and the conventional (Van Hove) theory.
Journal ArticleDOI
Roughening and Lower Critical Dimension in the Random-Field Ising Model
G. Grinstein,Shang-keng Ma +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the lower critical dimension of random-field Ising systems is shown to be two, in agreement with simple domain estimates, based on a new interface model and a simple domain model.
