Fabrication and Properties of 3-D Cf/SiC–ZrC Composites, Using ZrC Precursor and Polycarbosilane
TL;DR: In this article, a 3D needled Cf/ZrC-SiC composites were successfully fabricated by polymer infiltration and pyrolysis combined with ZrC precursor impregnation, which exhibited a nonbrittle failure behavior due to propagation and deflection of cracks, and fracture and pullout of fibers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pressureless Sintering of High-Density ZrB2–SiC Ceramic Composites
TL;DR: In this paper, the starting ZrB2 powder was synthesized via the sol-gel method with a small crystallite size and a large specific surface area, which can be pressureless sintered to ∼97.7% theoretical density at 2250°C for 2 h.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of nearly stoichiometric SiC ceramic fibres
Shaoming Dong,Georges Chollon,Christine Labrugère,Michel Lahaye,Alain Guette,Jean-Luc Bruneel,Michel Couzi,Roger Naslain,Dongliang Jiang +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a comparative study of the chemical composition and microstructure of Hi-Nicalon, Carborundum, Tyranno SA, Sylramic, and Carbelundum fibres has been conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI
ZrB2–SiC Oxidation Protective Coating on C/C Composites Prepared by Vapor Silicon Infiltration Process
TL;DR: ZrB 2 -SiC coating on C/C composites was prepared through vapor silicon infiltration process, and the coating showed excellent oxidation performance at 1500°C. as mentioned in this paper showed that there was weight gain accompanied in the whole oxidation process and no evidence of oxidation of composite substrate was observed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Status and strategy of fusion materials development in China
Qunying Huang,Yucheng Wu,Jiao-Long Li,Farong Wan,Jie Chen,G.N. Luo,X. Liu,J.M. Chen,Z.Y. Xu,X.G. Zhou,Xin Ju,Yiyin Shan,J.N. Yu,S.Y. Zhu,P.Y. Zhang,Jie Yang,Xianglin Chen,Shaoming Dong +17 more
TL;DR: The liquid metal and solid ceramic pebble breeder blankets have become the most promising blankets for ITER-TBMs or DEMO reactors in China and the world due to their potential advantages as mentioned in this paper.
