Journal ArticleDOI
PD-L1 as a biomarker of response to immune-checkpoint inhibitors
Deborah B. Doroshow,Sheena Bhalla,Mary Beth Beasley,Lynette M. Sholl,Keith M. Kerr,Sacha Gnjatic,Ignacio I. Wistuba,David L. Rimm,Ming-Sound Tsao,Fred R. Hirsch +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the current role of PD-L1 immunohistochemistry assays used to inform the selection of patients to receive antiPD-1 or anti-PD-L 1 antibodies, discuss the various technical and clinical challenges associated with these assays, including regulatory issues, and provide some perspective on how to optimize PDL1 as a selection biomarker for the future treatment of patients with solid tumours.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of anticoagulation prior to COVID-19 infection: a propensity score-matched cohort study.
Douglas Tremblay,Maaike van Gerwen,Mathilda Alsen,Santiago Thibaud,Alaina J. Kessler,Sangeetha Venugopal,Iman Makki,Qian Qin,Sirish Dharmapuri,Tomi Jun,Sheena Bhalla,Shana Berwick,Jonathan Feld,John Mascarenhas,Kevin Troy,Caroline Cromwell,Andrew Dunn,William Oh,Leonard Naymagon +18 more
TL;DR: No evidence is found for an effect of prediagnosis anticoagulation on mortality in patients treated with COVID-19 after matching for existing comorbidities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Admission D-dimer levels, D-dimer trends, and outcomes in COVID-19.
Leonard Naymagon,Nicole Zubizarreta,Jonathan Feld,Maaike van Gerwen,Mathilda Alsen,Santiago Thibaud,Alaina J. Kessler,Sangeetha Venugopal,Iman Makki,Qian Qin,Sirish Dharmapuri,Tomi Jun,Sheena Bhalla,Shana Berwick,Krina Christian,John Mascarenhas,Francine R. Dembitzer,Erin Moshier,Douglas Tremblay +18 more
TL;DR: Observational data suggest an acquired prothrombotic state may contribute to the pathophysiology of COVID-19, and D-dimer levels and trends are associated with outcomes, but they have limited performance characteristics as prognostic tests.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protective role of Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitors in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and COVID-19.
Santiago Thibaud,Douglas Tremblay,Sheena Bhalla,Brittney S Zimmerman,Keith Sigel,Janice Gabrilove +5 more
TL;DR: Several drugs with anti-inflammatory properties have been suggested as adjuncts to supportive care in the management of COVID-19, and several clinical trials are underway.
Journal ArticleDOI
