Sub-200 fs soliton mode-locked fiber laser based on bismuthene saturable absorber
Bo Guo,Shi‐hao Wang,Zhi-Xin Wu,Ze-Xin Wang,Da-He Wang,Hao Huang,Feng Zhang,Yanqi Ge,Han Zhang +8 more
TL;DR: These findings unambiguously imply that apart from its fantastic electric and thermal properties, few-layer bismuthene may also possess attractive optoelectronic properties for nonlinear photonics, such as mode-lockers, Q-switchers, optical modulators and so on.

Paul,Lilly Pyras,C. Persichilli,Ilse Plaisier,Ryan Rice-Smith,Mohammad F.H. Seikh,J. Tatar,Christoph Welling,Leshan Zhao +44 more
TL;DR: The TAROGE-M radio observatory is a self-triggered antenna array on top of the ∼2700 m high Mt. Melbourne in Antarctica, designed to detect impulsive geomagnetic emission from extensive air showers induced by ultra-high energy (UHE) particles beyond 1017 eV, including cosmic rays, Earth-skimming tau neutrinos, and particularly, the ANITA anomalous events (AAE) from near and below the horizon as discussed by the authors .
