Predictors of malignancy and natural history of main-duct intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms of the pancreas.
Kensuke Takuma,Terumi Kamisawa,Hajime Anjiki,Naoto Egawa,Masanao Kurata,Goro Honda,Koji Tsuruta,Shinichiro Horiguchi,Yoshinori Igarashi +8 more
TL;DR: Although surgical resection is indicated for many main-duct IPMNs, conservative follow-up may be an option for elderly asymptomatic patients with main- duct IPMNs with the MPD less than 10 mm, no obvious mural nodule, and negative cytology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pathological diagnostic criterion of blood and lymphatic vessel invasion in colorectal cancer: a framework for developing an objective pathological diagnostic system using the Delphi method, from the Pathology Working Group of the Japanese Society for Cancer of the Colon and Rectum
Motohiro Kojima,Hideyuki Shimazaki,Keiichi Iwaya,Masayoshi Kage,Jun Akiba,Yasuo Ohkura,Shinichiro Horiguchi,Kohei Shomori,Ryoji Kushima,Yoichi Ajioka,Shogo Nomura,Atsushi Ochiai +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a framework for pathological diagnostic criterion was developed by reviewing concordance and using the Delphi method, using 40 colorectal cancer specimens from eight hospitals, with or without histochemical/immunohistochemical staining.
Journal ArticleDOI
Major Duodenal Papilla and Its Normal Anatomy
TL;DR: The major duodenal papilla (papilla of Vater) is the point where the dilated junction of the bile and pancreatic ducts enter the duodenum.
Journal ArticleDOI
Low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma of the small bowel mesentery: computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging findings
Shinya Fujii,Yoko Kawawa,Yoko Kawawa,Shinichiro Horiguchi,Noriko Kamata,Toshibumi Kinoshita,Toshihide Ogawa +6 more
TL;DR: Low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma (LGFMS) is a rare tumor that commonly arises in the lower extremities but rarely in the mesentery, suggesting that the tumor contained myxoid tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm of the pancreas and IgG4-related disease: A coincidental association
Taku Tabata,Terumi Kamisawa,Seiichi Hara,Sawako Kuruma,Kazuro Chiba,Go Kuwata,Takashi Fujiwara,Hideto Egashira,Satomi Koizumi,Yuka Endo,Koichi Koizumi,Junko Fujiwara,Takeo Arakawa,Kumiko Momma,Shinichiro Horiguchi,Tsunekazu Hishima,Masanao Kurata,Goro Honda,Günter Klöppel +18 more
TL;DR: In a few patients with IPMNs, IgG4-positive plasma cell infiltration can occur in the peritumorous area and the association of an IPMN with AIP type 1-like changes seems to be exceptional and coincidental.
