TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of an extruded, polymeric, tubular, microfiltration membrane with respect to its ability to disinfect and clarify sewage effluents was investigated and the membrane module operated cyclically with 10min on and 0.5min off.

TL;DR: In this article, a flat sheet titania-coated sintered stainless steel (IMAS UK) was used as a substrate for DFM formation and the rejection of a single electrolyte solution by a hydrous zirconium oxide/poly(acrylic acid) dual layer dynamically formed membrane (DFM) was investigated.

TL;DR: In this article, the flocculation process was monitored in-situ using a laser scanning microscope which provided on-line size distribution data, and the flocculated primary sewage effluent with aluminium sulphate using standard jar testing equipment.
Abstract: Experimental work designed to gain a better understanding of the flocculation of primary sewage effluent is reported and compared with theoretical predictions. Primary sewage effluent was flocculated with aluminium sulphate using standard jar testing equipment. The flocculation process was monitored in-situ using a laser scanning microscope which provided on-line size distribution data.
