Crohn’s disease recurrence updates: first surgery vs. surgical relapse patients display different profiles of ileal microbiota and systemic microbial-associated inflammatory factors

TL;DR: It is suggested that patterns of microbiota, associated with healthy ileal tissue, could be involved in triggering CD recurrence, and new diagnostics and therapeutics aimed not only at reducing inflammation but also at maintaining a general state of eubiosis in healthy tissue are needed.

Adaptive Integral Sliding Mode Control in the Presence of State-Dependent Uncertainty

TL;DR: In this paper , it is shown that Euler-Lagrange dynamics typical of sliding mode literature admit a structure-independent parametrization of the system uncertainty, which is not the result of structural knowledge.

Interconnected Microgrids: An Energyplus Simulation Test Case

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a microgrid simulation test case to evaluate the performance of different strategies for load management and thermal comfort optimization in a small-scale renewable-energy generation system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adaptive strategies to platoon merging with vehicle engine uncertainty

TL;DR: This work shows how a newly proposed strategy based on adaptive control with bidirectional error seamlessly allows the vehicle that wants to merge to interact with both the front and the rear vehicles, in a similar way as humans do.
