Journal ArticleDOI

One electron reduction transforms high-valent low-spin cobalt alkylidene into high-spin cobalt(II) carbene radical

TL;DR: Treatment of [Co(OR)2(CPh2)][CoP*2] with xylyl isocyanide triggers formation of two new C-C bonds, and is likely mediated by nucleophilic attack of deprotonated CoCp*2+ on a transient ketenimine.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of Chromium(II) Complexes with Chelating Bis(alkoxide) Ligand and Their Reactions with Organoazides and Diazoalkanes

TL;DR: Catalytic formation of carbodiimides was investigated for the azide/isocyanide mixtures containing various aryl azides and isocyanides and found to depend on the nature of organoazide: whereas bulky mesitylazide led to the formation of carbohydrates with all isOCyanides, no Carbodiimide formation was observed for 3,5-dimethylphenylazide or 4-methylphenylAZide.
Journal ArticleDOI

Catalytic synthesis of azoarenes via metal-mediated nitrene coupling.

TL;DR: In this article , a review of transition metal catalyzed nitrene coupling is presented, focusing on various Nitrene coupling mechanisms, and the substrate scope for each system, and particular attention is devoted to the iron-alkoxide catalytic systems investigated in the PI's laboratory.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and Cu(I)/Mo(VI) Reactivity of a Bifunctional Heterodinucleating Ligand on a Xanthene Platform.

TL;DR: In this paper, a new heterodinucleating ligand was designed and its Cu(I)/Mo(VI) reactivity was investigated, and the ligand exhibited dynamic cooperativity between two reactive sites mediated by H-bonding of the catechol protons.
