Journal ArticleDOI

Liver-derived insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) is the principal source of IGF-I in blood but is not required for postnatal body growth in mice

TL;DR: It is concluded that postnatal body growth is preserved despite complete absence of IGF-I production by the hepatocytes, suggesting that the liver is the principal source of IGF -I in the blood.
Journal ArticleDOI

Estrogen Receptor (ER)-β Reduces ERα-Regulated Gene Transcription, Supporting a “Ying Yang” Relationship between ERα and ERβ in Mice

TL;DR: In vivo data indicate that an important physiological role of ERbeta is to modulate ERalpha-mediated gene transcription supporting a "Ying Yang" relationship between ERalpha and ERbeta in mice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prophylactic fibrinogen infusion reduces bleeding after coronary artery bypass surgery. A prospective randomised pilot study.

TL;DR: In this pilot study preoperative fibrinogen concentrate infusion reduced bleeding after CABG without evidence of postoperative hypercoagulability and did not influence global postoperative haemostasis as assessed by thromboelastometry.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Clinical Trial of the Accuracy and Treatment Experience of the Flash Glucose Monitor FreeStyle Libre in Adults with Type 1 Diabetes.

TL;DR: FreeStyle Libre had a similar overall MARD as continuous blood glucose monitoring systems in earlier studies when studied in similar at-home conditions and patients' experience with the system was generally positive.
