Journal ArticleDOI
Targeting metastasis-initiating cells through the fatty acid receptor CD36
Gloria Pascual,Alexandra Avgustinova,Stefania Mejetta,Mercè Martín,Andrés Castellanos,Camille Stephan-Otto Attolini,Antoni Berenguer,Neus Prats,Agustí Toll,Juan Antonio Hueto,Coro Bescós,Luciano Di Croce,Luciano Di Croce,Salvador Aznar Benitah +13 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that metastasis-initiating cells particularly rely on dietary lipids to promote metastasis, at least in human melanoma- and breast cancer-derived tumours.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regulation of Human Epidermal Stem Cell Proliferation and Senescence Requires Polycomb- Dependent and -Independent Functions of Cbx4
Nuno Miguel Luis,Lluis Morey,Stefania Mejetta,Gloria Pascual,Peggy Janich,Bernd Kuebler,Luca Cozutto,Guglielmo Roma,Elisabete Nascimento,Michaela Frye,Luciano Di Croce,Salvador Aznar Benitah +11 more
TL;DR: It is shown that Cbx4, a Polycomb Repressive Complex 1 (PRC1)-associated protein, maintains human epidermal stem cells as slow-cycling and undifferentiated, while protecting them from senescence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Jarid2 regulates mouse epidermal stem cell activation and differentiation
Stefania Mejetta,Lluis Morey,Gloria Pascual,Bernd Kuebler,Matthew R. Mysliwiec,Youngsook Lee,Ramin Shiekhattar,Luciano Di Croce,Salvador Aznar Benitah +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that deletion of Jarid2 in mouse epidermis reduces the proliferation and potentiates the differentiation of postnatal epidermal progenitors, without affecting epidersmal development.
Journal ArticleDOI
ZRF1 controls oncogene-induced senescence through the INK4-ARF locus.
Joana Domingues Ribeiro,Lluis Morey,Alba Mas,Arantxa Gutierrez,Nuno Miguel Luis,Stefania Mejetta,Holger Richly,Salvador Aznar Benitah,Salvador Aznar Benitah,William M. Keyes,L Di Croce,L Di Croce +11 more
TL;DR: It is shown that cells undergoing senescence following oncogenic Ras expression have increased Z RF1 levels, and that this binds to the p15INK4b, ARF and p16INK4a promoters, and alterations in ZRF1 may contribute to tumorigenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Erratum: Regulation of human epidermal stem cell proliferation and senescence requires polycomb-dependent and -independent functions of Cbx4 (Cell Stem Cell (2011) 9 (233-246))
Nuno Miguel Luis,Lluis Morey,Stefania Mejetta,Gloria Pascual,Peggy Janich,Bernd Kuebler,Luca Cozutto,Guglielmo Roma,Elisabete Nascimento,Michaela Frye,Luciano Di Croce,Salvador Aznar Benitah +11 more
