Pathophysiology of Motor Dysfunction in Parkinson's Disease as the Rationale for Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation.
Francesca Magrinelli,Alessandro Picelli,Pierluigi Tocco,Angela Federico,L. Roncari,Nicola Smania,Giampietro Zanette,Stefano Tamburin +7 more
TL;DR: A review of the neuropathology, neuropharmacology, and neurophysiology of motor dysfunction of Parkinson's disease can be found in this article, where the authors focus on classical notions and recent insights.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intravenous immunoglobulin versus intravenous methylprednisolone for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy: a randomised controlled trial

Chiara Zucchella,Elena Sinforiani,Stefano Tamburin,Angela Federico,Elisa Mantovani,Sara Bernini,Roberto Casale,Michelangelo Bartolo +7 more
TL;DR: Although NPT is often applied in the multidisciplinary approach to AD and dementia, supporting evidence for their use is still preliminary and well-designed randomized controlled trials with innovative designs are needed to explore the efficacy of NPT inAD and dementia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transient inhibition of the human motor cortex by capsaicin-induced pain. A study with transcranial magnetic stimulation.
Simona Farina,Massimiliano Valeriani,Tiziana Rosso,Salvatore Maria Aglioti,Stefano Tamburin,Antonio Fiaschi,Michele Tinazzi +6 more
TL;DR: Motor cortex inhibition induced by tonic cutaneous pain is maximal to muscles adjacent to the painful area, and this inhibition may be due to the activation of the C fibres which mediate 'slow' nociception and might be important to alert subject to possible phasic nocICEptive events that may occur close to the pain area.
