Journal ArticleDOI

A cellular defense pathway regulating transcription through poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation in response to DNA damage

TL;DR: It is found that automodification of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase in response to DNA damage resulted in the up-regulation of transcription, presumably because automodified poly( ADP)-ribose molecules were released from transcripts, thereby relieving the block on transcription.
Journal ArticleDOI

DNA repair patch mediated double-strand DNA break formation in human cells

TL;DR: In vitro data demonstrate that double strand DNA breaks are produced through formation of DNA repair patches, referred to as the "DNA repair patch-mediated pathway."
Journal ArticleDOI

Double-strand DNA break formation mediated by flap endonuclease-1.

TL;DR: It is reported that, instead of DNA polymerase δ/ϵ, flap endonuclease-1 (FEN-1), an enzyme involved in base excision repair, is responsible for the formation of double-strand DNA break in the assay.
