Thymoquinone Selectively Kills Hypoxic Renal Cancer Cells by Suppressing HIF-1α-Mediated Glycolysis
Yoon Mi Lee,Geon Hee Kim,Eun Ji Park,Taek In Oh,Sujin Lee,Sang Yeon Kan,Hye-Ji Kang,Byeong Mo Kim,Ji Hyung Kim,Ji Hong Lim +9 more
TL;DR: TQ was found to be a novel HIF-1α inhibitor through hypoxia response element (HRE)-luciferase assay-based large screening by using 502 natural compounds containing chemical library, and it was suggested that TQ is a potential anticancer agent targeting Hif-1 α.
Journal ArticleDOI
Zerumbone, a Tropical Ginger Sesquiterpene of Zingiber officinale Roscoe, Attenuates α-MSH-Induced Melanogenesis in B16F10 Cells
Taek-In Oh,Hye-Jeong Jung,Yoon-Mi Lee,Sujin Lee,Geon-Hee Kim,Sang-Yeon Kan,Hye-Ji Kang,Taerim Oh,Hyun Myung Ko,Keun-Chang Kwak,Ji-Hong Lim +10 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that ZER and Zingiber officinale (ZO) extract significantly attenuate melanin accumulation in α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH)-stimulated mouse melanogenic B16F10 cells, suggesting that Zerumbone and ZO extract can be used as active ingredients in skin-whitening cosmetics because of their anti-Melanogenic effect.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ursolic Acid Suppresses Cholesterol Biosynthesis and Exerts Anti-Cancer Effects in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells
TL;DR: It is suggested that UA is a promising cholesterol-lowering nutraceutical for the prevention and treatment of patients with HCC and cholesterol-related chronic diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
IDH1R132H Causes Resistance to HDAC Inhibitors by Increasing NANOG in Glioblastoma Cells.
Geon-Hee Kim,So Young Choi,Taek-In Oh,Sang-Yeon Kan,Hye-Ji Kang,Sujin Lee,Taerim Oh,Hyun Myung Ko,Ji-Hong Lim +8 more
TL;DR: It is found that the overexpression of IDH1R132H suppresses cell growth, cell cycle progression and motility in U87MG glioblastoma cells, and that it is a potential molecular target for HDACi-based therapy for GBM.
Patent
Skin whitening composition comprising brassinin as active ingredient
TL;DR: In this paper, a brassinin-based skin whitening composition for melanin suppression and inhibition of tyrosinase, a regulatory enzyme, was proposed, which can be usefully used in cosmetics and food fields.
