Journal ArticleDOI

Ribosomal proteins of bacterial cells: strain- and species-specificity.

TL;DR: It is revealed that the 50 and 30 s subunits which contain respectively at least 15 and 11 main protein components possess almost no common protein components.
Journal ArticleDOI

The number of ribosomal RNA genes in Mycoplasma capricolum.

TL;DR: It is concluded that Mycoplasma capricolum chromosome carries at least two sets of genes for 16S, 23S and 5S rRNAs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Yeast ribosomal proteins: V. Correlation of several nomenclatures and proposal of a standard nomenclature

TL;DR: A standard nomenclature for yeast ribosomal proteins is proposed, in which the designations YS1–YS29 and YL1–YL44 have been given to the small sub unit proteins and the large subunit proteins respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biosynthesis of 50 s ribosomal subunit in Escherichia coli.

TL;DR: The protein compositions and 5 s RNA contents of the nascent ribosomal particles are compared with those of protein-deficient particles obtained by exposing 50 s Ribosomal subunits to a concentrated LiCl solution and the molecular compositions are found to be similar, but not exactly the same.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ribosomes from erythromycin-resistant mutants of Escherichia coli Q13.

TL;DR: Mutants from Escherichia coli Q13 selected for resistance to leucomycin, tylosin or spiramycin exhibited cross resistance to all the macrolide antibiotics tested including erythromycin, but a few mutants however seem to be less resistant to erystromycin.
