Rice-husk flour filled polypropylene composites; mechanical and morphological study

TL;DR: In this article, the possibility of using lignocellulosic materials as reinforcing fillers in the thermoplastic polymer composite, polypropylene as the matrix and rice-husk flour as the reinforcing filler were used to prepare a particle-reinforced composite in order to determine testing data for the physical, mechanical and morphological properties of the composite according to the filler loading.
Journal ArticleDOI

Water absorption behavior and mechanical properties of lignocellulosic filler–polyolefin bio-composites

TL;DR: In this paper, the physical and mechanical properties of polyolefin bio-composites were evaluated as a function of filler loading and according to filler type as well as with respect to the thermoplastic polymer itself.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of compatibilizing agents on rice-husk flour reinforced polypropylene composites

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of compatibilizing agents on mechanical properties and morphology of a lignocellulosic material-thermoplastic polymer composite was examined using rice-husk flour as the reinforcing filler and polypropylene as the thermoplastic matrix polymer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antibacterial electrospun chitosan/poly(vinyl alcohol) nanofibers containing silver nitrate and titanium dioxide

TL;DR: In this article, a chitosan/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) nanofibers with antibacterial activity were obtained by electrospinning of a PVA solution with a small amount of silver nitrate (AgNO3) and titanium dioxide (TiO2).
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermal properties of agro-flour-filled biodegradable polymer bio-composites

TL;DR: In this article, the thermal properties of agro-flour-filled polybutylene succinate (PBS) bio-composites were investigated, and the authors found that the thermal degradation of the bio composites was not affected by agroflour mesh size and the glass transition (Tg) and melting (Tm) temperatures were not significantly changed.
