The effect of air pollution on human physiological function in China: a longitudinal study
Yuming Guo,Shanshan Li,Yong Zhou,Linping Chen,Shuohua Chen,Taicheng Yao,Tianbang Qin,Shouling Wu +7 more
TL;DR: Increased concentrations of PM 10, SO 2 , and NO 2 were significantly associated with decreases in all categories of physiological function, such as increase in heart rate and blood pressure (heart function), increase in urine creatinine and urea (renal function), and increase in C-reactive protein (inflammatory response function).
Journal ArticleDOI
Air pollution and fasting blood glucose: A longitudinal study in China.
Linping Chen,Yong Zhou,Shanshan Li,Gail M. Williams,Haidong Kan,Guy B. Marks,Lidia Morawska,Michael J. Abramson,Shuohua Chen,Taicheng Yao,Tianbang Qin,Shouling Wu,Yuming Guo +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of air pollution on FBG were examined for 27,685 participants who were followed during 2006 and 2008 and found that increased exposure to NO2, SO2, and PM10 was significantly associated with increased FBG levels in single pollutant models.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cross-section analysis of coal workers' pneumoconiosis and higher brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity within Kailuan study.
Yao Zheng,Lirong Liang,Tianbang Qin,Guang Yang,Shasha An,Yang Wang,Zhifang Li,Zhongda Shao,Xiuping Zhu,Taicheng Yao,Shouling Wu,Jun Cai +11 more
TL;DR: For patients with CWP, increased baPWV was associated with traditional cardiovascular risk factors and long-term silica dust exposure and a significant positive exposure-response relationship betweensilica dust-exposure quartiles and increased baBWV in CWP cases was detected.
