Comparisons between azo dyes and Schiff bases having the same benzothiazole/phenol skeleton: Syntheses, crystal structures and spectroscopic properties

TL;DR: In this paper, three pairs of heterocyclic azo dyes and their corresponding Schiff bases were prepared by diazotization and Schiff-base condensation reactions between substituted 2-aminobenzothiazoles and either 3-(diethylamino)phenol or 3,5-dichloro-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde.
Journal ArticleDOI

Asymmetrical/symmetrical D-π-A/D-π-D thiazole-containing aromatic heterocyclic fluorescent compounds having the same triphenylamino chromophores.

TL;DR: The photophysical and electrochemical results demonstrate that compound 7 exhibits high electrochemical activity with a green fluorescence emission, and compounds 1, 2, and 6 show high luminescence quantum yields, and compound 8 exhibits excellent thermal stability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extended Bis(anthraoxa)quinodimethanes with Nine and Ten Consecutively Fused Six-Membered Rings: Neutral Diradicaloids and Charged Diradical Dianions/Dications

TL;DR: Two very long bis(anthraoxa)quinodimethanes with nine (ABA) and ten (ANA) consecutively fused six-membered rings with a planar backbone with a typical quinoidal character are synthesised.
Journal ArticleDOI

C–C bond cleavage in acetonitrile by copper(II)–bipyridine complexes and in situ formation of cyano-bridged mixed-valent copper complexes

TL;DR: A trinuclear cyano-bridged mixed-valent copper complex 9, which is believed to be the most stable species in this system, shows effective activity in catalyzing Ullmann C-N cross-coupling reactions.
