Osteoarthritis in patients with anterior cruciate ligament rupture: a review of risk factors.
Hugues Louboutin,Romain Debarge,Julien Richou,Tarik Ait Si Selmi,Simon T. Donell,Philippe Neyret,Frédéric Dubrana +6 more
TL;DR: The risk of developing osteoarthritis in patients who have had an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture is lower after ACL reconstruction, however the rate of significant symptomatic OA needing major surgical intervention is lower, and needs to be considered when advising patients on the management of their ruptured ACL.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stiffness after total knee arthroplasty: Prevalence, management and outcomes
Hüseyin S. Yercan,Tahir S. Sugun,C. Bussière,Tarik Ait Si Selmi,Andrew Davies,Philippe Neyret +5 more
TL;DR: In the opinion, patellar problems are a good prognostic factor for the success of revision surgery and open arthrolysis does not correct a limited flexion arc, but it does relieve pain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-Term Follow-Up of 24.5 Years After Intra-Articular Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction With Lateral Extra-Articular Augmentation
TL;DR: Onset of osteoarthritis was correlated with medial meniscal status and femoral chondral defects at time of surgery, and total medial meniscectomy and articular cartilage damage were risk factors for osteearthritis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interobserver Reliability of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS) Classification of Meniscal Tears
Allen F. Anderson,Jay J. Irrgang,Warren R. Dunn,Philippe Beaufils,Moises Cohen,Brian J. Cole,Myles R. J. Coolican,Mario Ferretti,R. Edward Glenn,Robert J. Journal ArticleDOI
Tibiofemoral instability in primary total knee replacement: a review, Part 1: Basic principles and classification.
TL;DR: Tibiofemoral instability following total knee replacement is a cause of early and late failure and usually requires revision surgery and proper prosthetic selection at the primary procedure avoids this complication.
