Journal ArticleDOI
Cloning, characterization, and chromosomal mapping of human aquaporin of collecting duct.
Sei Sasaki,Kiyohide Fushimi,H Saito,Fumiko Saito,Shunya Uchida,Kenichi Ishibashi,Michio Kuwahara,Tatsuro Ikeuchi,K Inui,K Nakajima +9 more
TL;DR: Western blot analysis of human kidney medulla indicated that the molecular mass of hAQP-CD is 29 kD, which is the same mass expected from the amino acid sequence, which could be important for future studies of the pathophysiology of human urinary concentration mechanisms in normal and abnormal states.
Journal Article
Genetic changes and histopathological types in colorectal tumors from patients with familial adenomatous polyposis.
Michiko Miyaki,Madoka Seki,Mieko Okamoto,Akiyoshi Yamanaka,Yoshiharu Maeda,Kiyoko Tanaka,Rei Kikuchi,Takeo Iwama,Tatsuro Ikeuchi,Akira Tonomura,Yusuke Nakamura,Ray White,Yoshio Miki,Joji Utsunomiya,Morio Koike +14 more
TL;DR: The results suggest the following mechanisms for the development of colon tumors in patients with familial adenomatous polyposis: the heterozygous mutant/wild-type condition at the APC gene causes formation of mild or moderate adenoma, and the loss of the normal allele in theAPC gene leads to a change from moderate to severe adenomas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Monoallelic BUB1B mutations and defective mitotic-spindle checkpoint in seven families with premature chromatid separation (PCS) syndrome.
Shinya Matsuura,Yoshiyuki Matsumoto,Ken-ichi Morishima,Hideki Izumi,Hiroshi Matsumoto,Emi Ito,Keisuke Tsutsui,Junya Kobayashi,Hiroshi Tauchi,Yoshinori Kajiwara,Seiji Hama,Kaoru Kurisu,Hidetoshi Tahara,Mitsuo Oshimura,Kenshi Komatsu,Tatsuro Ikeuchi,Tadashi Kajii +16 more
TL;DR: Molecular analysis of BUB1B (encoding BubR1) in seven Japanese families with the PCS syndrome indicates the involvement of BubR 1 in p55cdc‐mediated mitotic checkpoint signaling, and suggest that >50% decrease in expression (or activity) ofbubR1 is involved in thePCS syndrome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Loss of constitutional heterozygosity in colon carcinoma from patients with familial polyposis coli.
Mieko Okamoto,Masayuki Sasaki,Kenji Sugio,Chieko Sato,Takeo Iwama,Tatsuro Ikeuchi,Akira Tonomura,Takehiko Sasazuki,Michiko Miyaki +8 more
TL;DR: Investigation of Familial polyposis coli patients revealed frequent occurrence of allele loss on chromosome 22, with some additional losses on chromosomes 5, 6, 12q and 15, which suggests the possible involvement of more than one chromosomal locus in the development of familial and sporadic colon carcinomas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Common cytological and cytogenetic features of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive natural killer (NK) cells and cell lines derived from patients with nasal T/NK-cell lymphomas, chronic active EBV infection and hydroa vacciniforme-like eruptions.
Yu Zhang,Hiroshi Nagata,Tatsuro Ikeuchi,Hiroyuki Mukai,Michiko K. Oyoshi,Ayako Demachi,Tomohiro Morio,Hiroshi Wakiguchi,Nobuhiro Kimura,Norio Shimizu,Kohtaro Yamamoto +10 more
TL;DR: Cytogenetic analysis detected deletions in chromosome 6q in five out of the six SNK cell clones, which suggested that a 6q deletion is a characteristic feature of EBV‐positive NK cells, which proliferated in the diseased individuals.
