Journal ArticleDOI

A soft robotic exosuit improves walking in patients after stroke.

TL;DR: Using controlled, treadmill-based biomechanical investigation, it is demonstrated that exosuits can function in synchrony with a wearer’s paretic limb to facilitate an immediate improvement in walking performance observed using the powered exosuit, making this a promising approach for neurorehabilitation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Barriers to Exercise in People With Parkinson Disease

TL;DR: Low outcome expectation from exercise, lack of time to exercise, and fear of falling appear to be important perceived barriers to engaging in exercise in people who have PD, are ambulatory, and dwell in the community.
Journal ArticleDOI

Efficacy of a physical therapy program in patients with Parkinson’s disease: A randomized controlled trial

TL;DR: People with PD derive benefits in the short term from PT group treatment, in addition to their MT, for quality of life related to mobility, CWS, and ADLs; long-term benefits were found in C WS, UPDRS ADL, and total scores but varied between groups.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clozapine and Risperidone Treatment of Psychosis in Parkinson's Disease

TL;DR: R risperidone may worsen extrapyramidal symptoms more than clozapine and therefore must be used with caution in subjects with PD, but it is as effective for the treatment of psychoses without the hematologic, antimuscarinic, and seizure side effects.
