Journal ArticleDOI

A new mouse model for intraportal islet transplantation with limited hepatic lobe as a graft site.

TL;DR: A mouse model of intraportal islet transplantation equipped with the potency of this assessment is developed by injecting islets selectively into the right hepatic lobe under temporal clamp of the left portal vein and can be applied to investigate both the specific graft-recipient interaction in the liver and the islet graft contribution to the control of diabetes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cell fiber-based three-dimensional culture system for highly efficient expansion of human induced pluripotent stem cells

TL;DR: A scalable culture system using the cell fiber technology for the expansion of human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells is described and demonstrated a long-term culture of the cells by serial passaging at a high expansion rate while retaining its pluripotency.
Journal ArticleDOI

Construction and transplantation of an engineered hepatic tissue using a polyaminourethane-coated nonwoven polytetrafluoroethylene fabric.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that this EHT prolonged the survival of liver failure-induced mice without adverse effects and showed good attachment of the cells on the surface of PTFE fabric and strong albumin expression seven days after the newly formed hepatic tissue was transplanted.
Journal ArticleDOI

FGF-21 enhances islet engraftment in mouse syngeneic islet transplantation model

TL;DR: It is suggested that FGF-21 may be useful as a treatment to improve islet engraftment rates in clinical islet transplantation by reducing β-cell load and increasing insulin sensitivity.
