Journal ArticleDOI
A comparison of single-lead atrial pacing with dual-chamber pacing in sick sinus syndrome
Jens Cosedis Nielsen,Poul Erik Bloch Thomsen,Søren Højberg,Mogens Møller,Thomas Vesterlund,Dorthe Dalsgaard,Leif Spange Mortensen,Tonny Nielsen,Mogens Asklund,Elsebeth V. Friis,Per Christensen,Erik H. Simonsen,Ulrik H. Eriksen,Jensen G,Jesper Hastrup Svendsen,William D. Toff,Jeff S. Healey,Henning Rud Andersen +17 more
TL;DR: In patients with sick sinus syndrome, there is no statistically significant difference in death from any cause between AAIR pacing andDDDR pacing, and these findings support the routine use of DDDR pacing in these patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Danish multicenter randomized study on fibrinolytic therapy versus acute coronary angioplasty in acute myocardial infarction: rationale and design of the DANish trial in Acute Myocardial Infarction-2 (DANAMI-2).
Henning Rud Andersen,Torsten Toftegaard Nielsen,Thomas Vesterlund,Peer Grande,Ulrik Abildgaard,Per Thayssen,Pedersen F,Leif Spange Mortensen +7 more
TL;DR: The DANish trial in Acute Myocardial Infarction-2 (DANAMI-2) is the first large-scale study to clarify, in a whole community, which of the 2 treatment strategies is best.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quality assessment of pacemaker implantations in Denmark.
Mogens Møller,Per Arnsbo,Mogens Asklund,Per Christensen,N. Gadsbøll,Jesper Hastrup Svendsen,E. Klarholt,K. E. Kleist,Peter Thomas Mortensen,Adrian Pietersen,Erik H. Simonsen,P. E. B. Thomsen,Thomas Vesterlund,P. Wiggers +13 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrate that sensitive data such as complications related to pacemaker implantations can be collected on a national basis and suggest that a reoperation rate higher than 3% for atrial as well as ventricular pacing electrodes in the individual implanting centre should cause the centre to evaluate carefully the procedure as wellAs the performance of theindividual implanter.
Journal ArticleDOI
Late lumen loss and intima hyperplasia after sirolimus-eluting and zotarolimus-eluting stent implantation in diabetic patients: the diabetes and drug-eluting stent (DiabeDES III) angiography and intravascular ultrasound trial
Lisette Okkels Jensen,Michael Maeng,Per Thayssen,Anton Boel Villadsen,Lars Romer Krusell,Hans Erik Bøtker,Knud Erik Pedersen,Jens Aarøe,Evald Hoej Christiansen,Thomas Vesterlund,Knud Noerregaard Hansen,Jan Ravkilde,Hans-Henrik Tilsted,Jens Flensted Lassen,Leif Thuesen +14 more
TL;DR: In diabetic patients, the SES reduced angiographic late lumen loss and inhibited NIH more effectively than ZES.
Journal ArticleDOI
Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty versus Thrombolysis in Acute Myocardial Infarction: A Prospective, Matched, Controlled Study
Hans-Henrik Tilsted Hansen,Leif Thuesen,Klaus Rasmussen,Henning Rud Andersen,Thomas Vesterlund,Anton Boel Villadsen,Anne Pauline Schroeder,Steen Elkjær Husted,Torsten Toftegaard Nielsen +8 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that patients treated with primary PTCA have fewer complications, a better left ventricular systolic function and a shorter hospital stay compared with patients treating with thrombolysis.
