Ion optics evaluation of the plasma ion mass spectrometer (PIMS) designed for the JET tokamak
G.F Matthews,W. Schustereder,N Cant,S.K Erents,J. E. Vince,A Qayyum,C. Mair,Paul Scheier,Tilmann D. Märk +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, computer simulations of a design for a plasma ion mass spectrometer (PIMS) head for diagnosing the edge plasma on the Joint European Torus (JET) magnetic fusion experiment are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ion-surface reaction studies relevant to fusion edge plasmas
TL;DR: In this article, the tandem mass spectrometer set-up BESTOF (consisting of a B-sector field combined with an E-sectors field, a Surface and a Time Of Flight Mass Spectrometer) is used for the investigation of ion/surface reactions with high primary mass and energy resolution, i.e. energy spreads of as low as 80 meV FWHM.
Journal ArticleDOI
Site selective cleavage of purine derivatives by capture of low energy electrons
TL;DR: In this article, the site selectivity of hydrogen loss induced by free electron attachment to purine derivatives was investigated by utilizing partially deuterated or methylated derivatives of adenine, and it was shown that the formation of the dehydrogenated parent anion (M−H)− below 1.4 eV can be attributed predominately to hydrogen loss from the N9 site.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metastable C3H52+ produced by electron impact of propane
TL;DR: In this article, a magnetic mass spectrometer of reversed geometry (BEE geometry) was used to measure the metastability of C 3 H 5 2+ ions formed by electron impact ionization of propane.
