Report of Findings in a DSM‐5 Field Trial for Hypersexual Disorder
Rory C. Reid,Bruce N. Carpenter,Joshua N. Hook,Sheila Garos,Jill C. Manning,Randy Gilliland,Erin B. Cooper,Heather L. McKittrick,Margarit Davtian,Timothy W. Fong +9 more
TL;DR: The HD criteria proposed by the DSM-5 Work Group on Sexual and Gender Identity Disorders appear to demonstrate high reliability and validity when applied to patients in a clinical setting among a group of raters with modest training on assessing HD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inhibition of Angiogenesis by Interleukin 4
Olga V. Volpert,Timothy W. Fong,Alisa E. Koch,Jeffrey D. Peterson,Carl Waltenbaugh,Robert I. Tepper,Noel P. Bouck,Noel P. Bouck +7 more
TL;DR: IL-4 was secreted at inhibitory levels by activated murine T helper cells and by a line of carcinoma cells whose tumorigenicity is known to be inhibited by IL-4, suggesting that the antiangiogenic activity of IL- 4 may play a role in normal physiology and contribute significantly to its demonstrated antitumor activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bupropion reduces methamphetamine-induced subjective effects and cue-induced craving
Thomas F. Newton,John D. Roache,Richard De La Garza,Timothy W. Fong,Christopher L. Wallace,Shou Hua Li,Ahmed Elkashef,Nora Chiang,Roberta Kahn +8 more
TL;DR: Bupropion reduced acute methamphetamine-induced subjective effects and reduced cue-induced craving, and these data provide a rationale for the evaluation of bupropion in the treatment of methamphetamine dependence.
Journal ArticleDOI
A double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of olanzapine for the treatment of video poker pathological gamblers.
TL;DR: Findings suggest that olanzapine is not an efficacious treatment for video poker pathological gamblers, but may still be an effective treatment for a specific subset of pathologicalgamblers, including those with a co-occurring psychiatric disorder.
Journal ArticleDOI
Psychometric development of the hypersexual behavior consequences scale.
TL;DR: A new scale, the Hypersexual Behavior Consequences Scale (HBCS), is developed to assess the various consequences reported among hypersexual patients and appears to capture various consequences associated with the DSM-5 proposed criteria for HD.
