TL;DR: Despite reductions in SO4 and H+ deposition, mass balance estimates indicate that acid deposition continues to acidify soils in many regions with losses of Ca and Mg of primary concern.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modelling hydrological conditions in the maritime forest region of south-western Nova Scotia
TL;DR: In this article, the authors quantified hydrological processes and conditions for the Mersey River Basin (two basins: one exiting below Mill Falls, and another exiting below George Lake), the Roger's Brook Basin, Moosepit Brook, and other selected locations at and near Kejimkujik National Park in Nova Scotia, Canada, from 1967 to 1990.
Journal ArticleDOI
Demonstration of extraction and PCR amplification of DNA from phytoplankton of lakes with high humic acid content
TL;DR: In this article, a procedure which uses polyvinylpyrrolidone to adsorb interfering material during the extraction of nucleic acids from lakes with high DOM was developed, which yields DNA of sufficient quality to serve as a template for PCR amplification of specific genetic sequences.
