The redshift of the Einstein ring in MG 1549+305

TL;DR: In this paper, a deep spectrum taken with the Echelle Spectrograph and Imager (ESI) at the Keck II Telescope as part of the Lenses Structure and Dynamics (LSD) Survey reveals the redshifts of the extremely red source of the radio Einstein ring in the gravitational lens system MG 1549+305 (zs= 1.170 +/- 0.001).
Journal ArticleDOI

The Assembly History of Disk Galaxies: II. Probing the Emerging Tully-Fisher Relation During 1<z<1.7

TL;DR: In this paper, a well-defined Tully-Fisher relation with up to 60% increase in scatter and stellar mass zero-point shift constraint of 0.02+/-0.02 dex since z~1.7 was established.

Luminous Satellites of Early-Type Galaxies I: Spatial Distribution

TL;DR: In this article, the authors study the spatial distribution of faint satellites of intermediate redshift (1 9999% confidence level) and find that the satellite population enhances its ability to produce the flux ratio anomalies observed in gravitationally lensed quasars, assuming that light traces mass for the host galaxy as observed for lens galaxies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Calibration and Limitations of the Mg II Line-based Black Hole Masses

TL;DR: Woo et al. as mentioned in this paper presented the single-epoch black hole mass (M$_{\rm BH}$) calibrations based on the rest-frame UV and optical measurements of Mg II 2798\AA and H$\beta$ 4861\AA lines and AGN continuum.
