Journal ArticleDOI
DHA inhibits proliferation and induces ferroptosis of leukemia cells through autophagy dependent degradation of ferritin.
Jing Du,Tongtong Wang,Yanchun Li,Yi Zhou,Xin Wang,Xingxing Yu,Xueying Ren,Yi-Han An,Yi Wu,Weidong Sun,Fan Weimin,Qiaojuan Zhu,Ying Wang,Xiangmin Tong +13 more
TL;DR: Experimental evidences on the detailed mechanism of DHA‐induced ferroptosis are provided and reveal that DHA might represent a promising therapeutic agent to preferentially target AML cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of Frataxin as a regulator of ferroptosis
Jing Du,Yi Zhou,Yanchun Li,Jun Xia,Yongjian Chen,Sufeng Chen,Xin Wang,Weidong Sun,Tongtong Wang,Xueying Ren,Xu Wang,Yi-Han An,Kang Lu,Wanye Hu,Siyuan Huang,Jianghui Li,Xiangmin Tong,Ying Wang +17 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the protein Frataxin (FXN) is a key regulator of ferroptosis by modulating iron homeostasis and mitochondrial function and pharmacological or genetic blocking the signal of iron starvation could completely restore the resistance to ferroPTosis in FXN knockdown cells and xenograft graft in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Critical Role of PTEN/PI3K/AKT Signaling Pathway in Shikonin-Induced Apoptosis and Proliferation Inhibition of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia.
Yu Chen,Tongtong Wang,Jing Du,Yanchun Li,Xin Wang,Yi Zhou,Xing-Xing Yu,Fan Weimin,Qiaojuan Zhu,Xiangmin Tong,Ying Wang +10 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that shik onin inhibits CML proliferation and migration and induces apoptosis by the PTEN/PI3K/AKT pathway, revealing the effects of shikonin therapy on CML.
Journal ArticleDOI
Marsdenia tenacissimae extraction (MTE) inhibits the proliferation and induces the apoptosis of human acute T cell leukemia cells through inactivating PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway via PTEN enhancement.
Ying Wang,Bing-yu Chen,Zhen Wang,Wei Zhang,Ke Hao,Yu Chen,Li Kaiqiang,Tongtong Wang,Yiwei Xie,Zhi-hui Huang,Xiang-Min Tong +10 more
TL;DR: An unrecognized function of MTE is revealed in inhibiting the proliferation and inducing the apoptosis of T-ALL cells, and a pathway of PTEN/PI3K/AKT/mTOR is identified for the effects of Mte on leukemia therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
TEOA Inhibits Proliferation and Induces DNA Damage of Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma Cells Through Activation of the ROS-Dependent p38 MAPK Signaling Pathway.
Xingxing Yu,Xin Wang,Xu Wang,Xu Wang,Yi Zhou,Yanchun Li,Aiwei Wang,Tongtong Wang,Yi-Han An,Weidong Sun,Jing Du,Xiangmin Tong,Ying Wang +12 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that ROS mediated activation of the p38 MAPK signal pathway plays an important role in initiating TEOA-induced DNA damage.
