Journal ArticleDOI
Arthroscopic hip surgery compared with physiotherapy and activity modification for the treatment of symptomatic femoroacetabular impingement: multicentre randomised controlled trial.
Antony Palmer,Vandana Ayyar Gupta,Scott Fernquest,Ines Rombach,Susan J Dutton,Ramy Mansour,Simon M. Wood,Vikas Khanduja,T. C. B. Pollard,Andrew McCaskie,Karen Barker,Tony Andrade,Andrew Carr,David J Beard,David J Beard,Sion Glyn-Jones +15 more
TL;DR: Patients with symptomatic FAI referred to secondary or tertiary care achieve superior outcomes with arthroscopic hip surgery than with physiotherapy and activity modification, according to the primary outcome measure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Periacetabular Osteotomy for Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip and Femoroacetabular Impingement: A Study Using the U.K. Non-Arthroplasty Hip Registry (NAHR) Data Set.
Richard J. Holleyman,Mark Andrew Sohatee,J. D. Witt,Marcus J K Bankes,Tony Andrade,Tim N. Board,Jonathan Lee Conroy,Matthew Wilson,C. W. McBryde,Vikas Khanduja,Ajay Malviya +10 more
TL;DR: This study shows that PAO is a successful surgical intervention for developmental dysplasia of the hip and FAI in the short term, with significant improvement in patient-reported outcome scores that is maintained up to 2 years postoperatively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement is associated with significant improvement in early patient reported outcomes: analysis of 4963 cases from the UK non-arthroplasty registry (NAHR) dataset

TL;DR: In this article , the authors evaluated the early outcomes of hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement and their determinants, and showed that the pincer subtype was significantly worse than the cam subtype compared to the mixed subtype.
