Journal ArticleDOI

Detection of total assist and sucking points based on the pulsatility of a continuous flow artificial heart: in vivo evaluation

TL;DR: A continuous flow artificial heart could be well controlled by detecting the t-point and s-point from among preload, afterload, and contractility, by which it can simulate Starling's law of the natural heart.
Journal Article

Induction of apoptosis by intrapleural perfusion hyperthermo-chemotherapy for malignant pleural mesothelioma.

TL;DR: In patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma, intrapleural perfusion hyperthermo-chemotherapy induced potent apoptosis of tumor cells, increasing immediately postperfusion and peaking at 24 h.
Journal ArticleDOI

Primary liposarcoma of the mediastinum —A case report and review of the literature—

TL;DR: The tumor of the mediastinum was diagnosed as a benign lipoma when it was first resected, but subsequently proved to be a liposarcoma when it re-appeared 2 years and 10 month later.
Journal ArticleDOI

Both 5-hydroxytryptamine 5-HT2A and 5-HT1B receptors are involved in the vasoconstrictor response to 5-HT in the human isolated internal thoracic artery.

TL;DR: Results demonstrate that, in human ITA,5‐HT‐induced vasoconstriction is mediated by activation of both 5‐HT2A and 5‐ HT1B receptors, which would appear to be most useful to prevent 5-HT‐ induced vasospasm.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clinical and immunohistochemical study of eight cases with thymic carcinoma.

TL;DR: Immunohistochemical results reveal that the expression of these proteins might indicate the aggressiveness of thymic carcinoma, and indicates a trend toward an association between complete resection and patient survival.
