Antiferromagnetic order is possible in ternary quasicrystal approximants
Asuka Ishikawa,Takenori Fujii,Tsunehiro Takeuchi,Tsunetomo Yamada,Yoshitaka Matsushita,Ryuji Tamura +5 more
TL;DR: Tamura et al. as discussed by the authors reported the observation of an AFM transition in quasicrystal approximants Au-Al-R ($R=\mathrm{Gd}$ and Tb), which represent examples of AFM in ternary quasical approximation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Probing Single Pt Atoms in Complex Intermetallic Al13Fe4.
Tsunetomo Yamada,Takayuki Kojima,Eiji Abe,Satoshi Kameoka,Yumi Murakami,Peter Gille,An Pang Tsai +6 more
TL;DR: The atomic structure of a 0.2 atom % Pt-doped complex metallic alloy, monoclinic Al13Fe4, was investigated using a single crystal prepared by the Czochralski method, revealing that the active state of a given single-atom Pt site is strongly dominated by the bonding to surrounding Al atoms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental Observation of Long-Range Magnetic Order in Icosahedral Quasicrystals.
Ryuji Tamura,Asuka Ishikawa,Shintaro Suzuki,Takahiro Kotajima,Yujiro Tanaka,Takehito Seki,Naoya Shibata,Tsunetomo Yamada,Takenori Fujii,Chin-Wei Wang,Maxim Avdeev,Maxim Avdeev,Kazuhiro Nawa,Daisuke Okuyama,Taku J. Sato +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the first observation of long-range magnetic order in real icosahedral quasicrystals (i QCs) Au-Ga-Gd15i and Au-GA-Tb.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magnetism of tsai-type quasicrystal approximants
Shintaro Suzuki,Asuka Ishikawa,Tsunetomo Yamada,Takanori Sugimoto,Akira Sakurai,Ryuji Tamura +5 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Antiferromagnetic order survives in the higher-order quasicrystal approximant
TL;DR: In this paper, the antiferromagnetic transition in 1/1 and 2/1 quasicrystal approximants having slightly different electron-per-atom $(e/a)$ ratios, at N\'eel temperatures of 7.0 and 8.5 K, was observed.
