Transfer of Chiral Information from Silica Hosts to Achiral Luminescent Guests: a Simple Approach to Accessing Circularly Polarized Luminescent Systems
TL;DR: This work proposes inorganic-based CPL-active systems constructed by the "chiral host-luminescent guest" strategy, in which silica acts as a chiral host to endow various luminescent guests with CPL.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preparation and acid-responsive photophysical properties of T-shaped π-conjugated molecules containing a benzimidazole junction.
TL;DR: The π-conjugated molecule with ethynyl spacers exhibited a marked redshift in the fluorescence spectrum with a large Stokes shift upon the addition of acid, whereas the other molecules showed substantial quenching, which indicated the transition to a CT state over the finite activation energy at the excited state.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photoluminescence Quenching in Polysilanes by Fullerene Doping and Effective Photoinduced Charge Transfer Depending on Aromatic Side Group
Katsumi Yoshino,Kenji Yoshimoto,Maki Hamaguchi,Tsuyoshi Kawai,Anvar A. Zakhidov,Hideki Ueno,Masaya Kakimoto,Hiroyuki Kojima +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the role of the aromatic side group as a mediator for photoinduced electron transfer from electronic states of the main chain polysilanes to the C60 molecule was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photoinduced Solubilization of Conducting Polymer and Its Application to Etching and Recording
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed that nonsoluble parts of conducting poly(3-alkylthiophene) become soluble into organic solvents upon irradiation of light of photon energy larger than the band gap.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and photochromic properties of a dithiazolylindole
TL;DR: In this paper, a novel photochromic 2,3-dithiazolylindole has been synthesized and its photo-chromic properties were elucidated, showing reversible photochromism both in solution and in a crystal with no spontaneous bleaching under dark conditions.
