Early Results from GLASS-JWST. IX. First Spectroscopic Confirmation of Low-mass Quiescent Galaxies at z > 2 with NIRISS
Danilo Marchesini,Gabriel B. Brammer,Takahiro Morishita,P. Bergamini,Xin Wang,Marusa Bradac,Guido Roberts-Borsani,Victoria Strait,Tommaso Treu,Adriano Fontana,Tucker Jones,Paola Santini,Benedetta Vulcani,Ana Acebron,A. Calabrò,Marco Castellano,Karl Glazebrook,Claudio Grillo,Amata Mercurio,Themiya Nanayakkara,Piero Rosati,C. Tubthong,Eros Vanzella +22 more
TL;DR: In this article , spectroscopic confirmation of two quiescent galaxies at zspec=2.650−0.004 (3σ errors) with stellar masses of log(Mstar/M⊙)=10.03+0.06 (corrected for magnification factors of μ = 2.0 and μ= 2.1, respectively).
Journal ArticleDOI
Keck Spectroscopy of Faint 3 < z < 7 Lyman Break Galaxies: III. The Mean Ultraviolet Spectrum at z=4
TL;DR: In this paper, the mean rest-frame ultraviolet spectrum for a sample of 81 Lyman Break Galaxies (LBGs) selected to be B-band dropouts with a mean redshift of z=3.

Direct Constraints on the Extremely Metal-Poor Massive Stars Underlying Nebular C IV Emission from Ultra-Deep HST/COS Ultraviolet Spectroscopy
Peter Senchyna,Daniel P. Stark,Stéphane Charlot,Adele Plat,Jacopo Chevallard,Zuyi Chen,Tucker Jones,Ryan L. Sanders,Gwen C. Rudie,Thomas J. Cooper,Gustavo Bruzual +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present exceptionally deep Hubble Space Telescope ultraviolet spectra targeting six galaxies that power strong nebular C IV emission approaching that encountered at $z>6$ and find that the strength and spectral profile of the nebular stars in these new spectra follow a sequence evocative of resonant scattering models, indicating that the hot circumgalactic medium likely plays a key role in regulating C IV escape locally.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Mass-Metallicity Relation at z=8: Direct-Method Metallicity Constraints and Near-Future Prospects
Tucker Jones,Ryan L. Sanders,Guido Roberts-Borsani,Richard S. Ellis,Nicolas Laporte,Tommaso Treu,Yuichi Harikane +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the T_e method to estimate gas-phase oxygen abundances in five galaxies at z = 7.1-9.1 using the direct T-e method.
Journal ArticleDOI

Windhorst,Lizhi Xie +41 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors present the spectroscopic confirmation of a protocluster at z = 7.88 behind the galaxy cluster Abell 2744 (hereafter A2744-z7p9OD).
