Sliding-strip microfluidic device enables ELISA on paper

TL;DR: 3D microfluidic paper-based analytical device that can be used to conduct an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) has the technical characteristics to be employed as a pre-screening tool, when combined with other data such as patient history and clinical signs.
Journal ArticleDOI

At-Home Microscale Paper-Based Quantitative Analysis Activity with External Standards

TL;DR: In this article , an inexpensive at-home quantitative analysis activity was developed for the determination of glucose in unknown samples using paper-based microfluidic devices, and the only items students needed to supply were water and a smartphone.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antimalarial activity of tetrahydro-β-carbolines targeting the ATP binding pocket of the Plasmodium falciparum heat shock 90 protein

TL;DR: A rationalized structure based design strategy suggests multiple avenues to further increase potency against the heat shock 90 protein of Plasmodium falciparum, potentially paving the path for a therapeutic with a mode of action different than any current clinical treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Auxiliary interfaces support the evolution of specific toxin-antitoxin pairing.

TL;DR: In this paper, the crystal structures of the three TacAT complexes were determined to understand the structural basis of specific TA neutralization and the evolution of such specific pairing, and it was shown that alteration of a discrete structural add-on element on the toxin drives specific recognition by their cognate antitoxin underpinning insulation.
