Trans geometry in platinum antitumor complexes

TL;DR: The structures and chemical properties of many ‘transplatin’ analogues, symmetric and asymmetric, containing wide range of ligands, e.g.: heterocyclic planar or nonplanar amines, aliphatic amine, iminoethers and phosphoric ligand, as well as polynuclear platinum complexes are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI

18β-Glycyrrhetinic acid: its core biological properties and dermatological applications.

TL;DR: The review highlights the key anti‐inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of GA and its toxicity towards normal cells lines and presents methods of increasing its penetration through the stratum corneum and bioaccumulation with the use of modern delivery systems such as liposomes and nanoemulsions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activity of water-soluble silver(i) complexes of metronidazole drug and selected counter-ions.

TL;DR: The newly synthesized compounds exhibited significant antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, better than the referenced silver sulfadiazine, and contained a methanesulphonate counter-ion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antibacterial Activity and Cytotoxicity of Silver(I) Complexes of Pyridine and (Benz)Imidazole Derivatives. X-ray Crystal Structure of [Ag(2,6-di(CH2OH)py)2]NO3

TL;DR: The present study evaluated the antibacterial activities of the complexes against three Gram-negative strains: Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 15442, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 and Proteus hauseri ATCC 13315 to find the most significant antibacterial properties were exerted by silver(I) complexes containing benzimidazole derivatives.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activity of silver(I) complexes of hydroxymethyl derivatives of pyridine and benzimidazole

TL;DR: In this paper, three new silver(I) complexes of 4-(hydroxymethyl)pyridine (4-CH2OHpy), 2,6-di(hydroxmethyl) pyridine(2,6)-di(CH2HO)py, and 2-(polycyclic benzimidazole (2-CH 2HObim) were synthesized and characterized by IR, NMR (1H and 13C) spectroscopy and elemental analysis.
