Randomized range-maxima in nearly-constant parallel time

TL;DR: In this article, a randomized preprocessing algorithm that runs in O(log*n) time with high probability, using an optimal number of processors on a CRCW PRAM; each query can be processed in constant time by one processor.
Journal ArticleDOI

Top-Bottom Routing Around a Rectangle Is as Easyas Computing Prefix Minima

TL;DR: It is established that, for parallel (and hence for serial) computation, the problem of top-bottom routing is no harder than the prefix minima problem, thus giving an O(\log ^*n) time optimal parallel algorithm for the top- bottom routing problem.
