Genome of Herbaspirillum seropedicae Strain SmR1, a Specialized Diazotrophic Endophyte of Tropical Grasses

Fábio O. Pedrosa, +81 more
- 12 May 2011 -
TL;DR: The genome sequence revealed that H. seropedicae is a highly versatile microorganism with capacity to metabolize a wide range of carbon and nitrogen sources and with possession of four distinct terminal oxidases, suggesting a high potential to interact with host plants.
Journal ArticleDOI

Endophytic and pathogenic Phyllosticta species, with reference to those associated with Citrus Black spot

TL;DR: DNA sequence analysis of the nrDNA internal transcribed spacer region and partial translation elongation factor 1-alpha (TEF1), actin and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH) genes resolved nine clades correlating to seven known, and two apparently undescribed species, suggesting that endophytic, non-pathogenic isolate occurring on a wide host range would be more correctly referred to as P. capitalensis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Decolorization and biodegradation of reactive blue 220 textile dye by Lentinus crinitus extracellular extract

TL;DR: Low molecular weight laccase displaying good tolerance to a wide range of pH values, salt concentrations and temperatures, suggesting a potential role for this organism in the remediation of real dye containing effluents.
Journal ArticleDOI

Horizontal transfer and hypovirulence associated with double-stranded RNA in Beauveria bassiana

TL;DR: Beauveria bassiana strains from different hosts and geographic origins were assayed for the presence of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA), and bioassays demonstrated hypovirulence associated with dsRNA.
