Anguiano,Guillermo Gonzalez-de-Rivera,Ricardo Ribalda,Marcos Faundez-Zanuy,Juan Antonio Ortega,Valentín Cardeñoso-Payo,A. Viloria,Carlos E. Vivaracho,Q. I. Moro,Juan J. Igarza,Jon Sanchez,Inma Hernaez,Carlos Orrite-Urunuela,Francisco Martinez-Contreras,Juan Jose Gracia-Roche +24 more
TL;DR: A new multimodal biometric database, acquired in the framework of the BiosecurID project, is presented together with the description of the acquisition setup and protocol and features such as: realistic acquisition scenario, balanced gender and population distributions, availability of information about particular demographic groups, and compatibility with other existing databases.

BioSecure signature evaluation campaign (BSEC'2009): Evaluating online signature algorithms depending on the quality of signatures
Nesma Houmani,Aurélien Mayoue,Sonia Garcia-Salicetti,Bernadette Dorizzi,Mahmoud I. Khalil,Mohamed N. Moustafa,Hazem M. Abbas,Daigo Muramatsu,Berrin Yanikoglu,Alisher Kholmatov,Marcos Martinez-Diaz,Julian Fierrez,Javier Ortega-Garcia,J. Roure Alcobé,Joan Fabregas,Marcos Faundez-Zanuy,Juan Manuel Pascual-Gaspar,Valentín Cardeñoso-Payo,Carlos Vivaracho-Pascual +18 more
TL;DR: The objective of BSEC'2009 was to evaluate different online signature algorithms on two tasks: the first one aims at studying the influence of acquisition conditions (digitizing tablet or PDA) on systems' performance; the second one aims on studying the impact of information content in signatures on systems’ performance.
Book ChapterDOI
Practical On-Line Signature Verification
TL;DR: A new DTW-based on-line signature verification system is presented and evaluated and its performance is among the best systems reported in the state of the art.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessing Pronunciation Improvement in Students of English Using a Controlled Computer-Assisted Pronunciation Tool
Cristian Tejedor-García,David Escudero-Mancebo,Enrique Cámara-Arenas,César González-Ferreras,Valentín Cardeñoso-Payo +4 more
TL;DR: A minimal-pair-based CAPT tool that implements exposure–perception–production cycles and provides automatic feedback to learners is tested for effectiveness in training adult native Spanish users (English level B1–B2) in the production of a set of difficult English sounds.

Mapping unstructured applications into nested parallelism
TL;DR: A new algorithmic technique is presented which allows automatic transformation of the task graph of any unstructured application to a series-parallel form (nested-Parallelism) and shows that a wide range of irregular applications can be expressed using a structured coordination model with a small loss of parallelism.
