Clinical Translation of Three-Dimensional Scar, Diffusion Tensor Imaging, Four-Dimensional Flow, and Quantitative Perfusion in Cardiac MRI: A Comprehensive Review.
Sophie Paddock,Sophie Paddock,Vasiliki Tsampasian,Hosamadin Assadi,Bruno Calife Mota,Andrew J. Swift,Amrit Chowdhary,Peter P Swoboda,Eylem Levelt,Eva Sammut,Amardeep Dastidar,Jordi Broncano Cabrero,Javier Royuela Del Val,Paul Malcolm,Julia Sun,Alisdair Ryding,Chris Sawh,Richard Greenwood,David Hewson,Vassilios S. Vassiliou,Pankaj Garg,Pankaj Garg +21 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the potential of CMR to offer a personalised medicine approach to treatment, diagnosis, and detection of disease, and give a foresight of how CMR will evolve into a powerful clinical tool in offering a precision medicine approach.
Journal ArticleDOI
Feasibility and validation of trans-valvular flow derived by four-dimensional flow cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging in patients with atrial fibrillation.
Mark T Mills,Ciaran Grafton-Clarke,Gareth Williams,Rebecca Gosling,Abdulaziz Al Baraikan,Andreas L. Kyriacou,Paul Morris,Julian Gunn,Peter P Swoboda,Eylem Levelt,Vasiliki Tsampasian,Rob J. van der Geest,Andrew J. Swift,John P Greenwood,Sven Plein,Vass Vassiliou,Pankaj Garg,Pankaj Garg +17 more
TL;DR: In patients with AF, 4D flow cardiovascular MRI is feasible with good image quality, allowing for quantification of trans-valvular flow.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biomarkers Associated with Mortality in Aortic Stenosis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Madeline White,Ranu Baral,Alisdair Ryding,Vasiliki Tsampasian,Thuwarahan Ravindrarajah,Pankaj Garg,Konstantinos C. Koskinas,Allan Clark,Vassilios S. Vassiliou +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a systematic review and meta-analysis is performed to evaluate the blood biomarkers utilized in aortic stenosis and assess whether they associate with mortality, showing that increased levels of baseline BNP, NT-proBNP, Troponin and Galectin-3 were associated with increased all-cause mortality in a population of patients with AS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Myocardial inflammation and energetics by cardiac MRI: a review of emerging techniques.
Vasiliki Tsampasian,Andrew J. Swift,Hosamadin Assadi,Amrit Chowdhary,Peter P Swoboda,Eva Sammut,Amardeep Ghosh Dastidar,Jordi Broncano Cabrero,Javier Royuela Del Val,Sunil Nair,Robin Nijveldt,Alisdair Ryding,Chris Sawh,Chiara Bucciarelli-Ducci,Eylem Levelt,Vassilios S. Vassiliou,Vassilios S. Vassiliou,Pankaj Garg,Pankaj Garg,Pankaj Garg +19 more
TL;DR: The role of inflammation in cardiovascular pathophysiology has gained a lot of research interest in recent years as discussed by the authors, which can potentially have a huge impact on clinical practice as it can be used in the diagnosis and management of very common conditions such as coronary artery disease, ischaemic and non-ischaemic cardiomyopathy, myocarditis and atherosclerosis.
