Journal ArticleDOI

Bistetracene: An Air-Stable, High-Mobility Organic Semiconductor with Extended Conjugation

TL;DR: The synthesis and characterization of "bistetracene", an unconventional, linearly extended conjugated core with eight fused rings, provides valuable insight into the design of unconventional semiconductor compounds based on higher PAHs for use in high-performance devices.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interaction of charge carriers with lattice vibrations in oligoacene crystals from naphthalene to pentacene.

TL;DR: This work establishes an original relationship between chemical structure and nonlocal vibrational coupling in the description of charge transport in organic semiconductor crystals as a function of molecular size from naphthalene through pentacene.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intervalence Transitions in the Mixed-Valence Monocations of Bis(triarylamines) Linked with Vinylene and Phenylene--Vinylene Bridges

TL;DR: The corresponding dications 1(2+)-4(2+) show a complementary trend in the coupling between redox centers: the shortest species is diamagnetic, while the dication with the longest bridge behaves as two essentially noninteracting radical centers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design of efficient ambipolar host materials for organic blue electrophosphorescence: theoretical characterization of hosts based on carbazole derivatives.

TL;DR: Extension of the phenyl-based π-conjugated system via meta linkages is found to be effective in modulating the electron affinity value while maintaining a high triplet energy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Delocalization in platinum-alkynyl systems: a metal-bridged organic mixed-valence compound.

TL;DR: A complex featuring two triarylamine redox centers bridged by Pt, trans-bis(triethylphosphine)-bis{4-[bis(4-methoxyphenyl)amino]phenylethynyl} platinum(II), has been synthesized as a model system for pi-conjugated Pt-containing polymers and analysis of the intervalence charge-transfer band affords a quantitative assessment of electronic delocalization through the Pt bridge.
