Inflammatory, Oxidative Stress and Small Cellular Particle Response in HUVEC Induced by Debris from Endoprosthesis Processing
Zala Jan,Matej Hočevar,Veno Kononenko,Sara Michelini,Neza Repar,Maja Caf,B Kocjancic,Drago Dolinar,Slavko Kralj,Darko Makovec,Aleš Iglič,Damjana Drobne,Monika Jenko,Veronika Kralj-Iglič +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper , inflammatory and oxidative stress-related parameters and cytotoxic response of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) to a 24-hour treatment with milled particles simulating debris involved in sandblasting of orthopedic implants (OI).
Journal ArticleDOI
CORR Insights®: Does Surgeon Experience Impact the Risk of Complications After Bernese Periacetabular Osteotomy?
TL;DR: The results of the current study report that two young surgeons performed the Bernese PAO with a similar frequency of major complications compared to more experienced surgeons (6% with no residual disability 1 year after the operation), suggesting that experience indeed improved their efficiency.
Book ChapterDOI
Interaction between charged membrane surfaces mediated by charged nanoparticles
TL;DR: It was shown that for large enough membrane surface charge densities and large enough dimensions of nanoparticles, the force between equally charged membranes may be attractive due to spatially distributed charges within the nanoparticles.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surfactin molecules with a cone-like structure promote the formation of membrane domains with negative spontaneous curvature and induce membrane invaginations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Small Cellular Particles from European Spruce Needle Homogenate
Marko Jeran,Anna Romolo,Vesna Spasovski,Matej Hočevar,Urban Novak,Roman Štukelj,Vid Šuštar,Matic Kisovec,Apolonija Bedina Zavec,Ksenija Kogej,Aleš Iglič,Polonca Trebše,Veronika Kralj-Iglič +12 more
TL;DR: In this article , small cellular particles (SCPs) from spruce needle homogenate were harvested and characterized by differential ultracentrifugation, and the average hydrodynamic diameter of SCPs measured in 10,029 SCPs was 161 ± 133 nm.
