TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the role and effect of service quality on patient satisfaction and perceived value in Ghana's healthcare delivery, and found that healthcare quality significantly influences satisfaction, while reducing costs leads to repeat behavior and paves the way for retention strategy for healthcare management.
Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to propose and test a healthcare framework of service quality, perceived value, and satisfaction in Ghana. More specifically, this study investigates the role and effect of service quality on patient satisfaction and perceived value in Ghana’s healthcare delivery. Design/methodology/approach Data were gathered through surveys administered to 113 healthcare patients in Ghana. partial least square-structural equation modeling analysis was used to empirically test the research model. Findings Results show healthcare quality significantly influences satisfaction and perceived value of healthcare delivery. Additionally, perceived value’s impact on satisfaction and behavioral intention shows that increasing perceived benefits while reducing perceived costs leads to repeat behavior and paves the way for retention strategy for healthcare management. Research limitations/implications This study yields a series of limitations in its results and conclusions. These limitations and future research are discussed in Section 7 of the study. Originality/value This study contributes to the literature by examining the effects of healthcare service quality on patient satisfaction and perceived value, determining the effect of healthcare service quality on patients’ behavioral intention, and testing the proposed framework in Ghana, a fast growing and economically liberalized emerging country in Sub-Saharan Africa.

TL;DR: Compared to the existing approaches for quality-driven recovery decision-making based on RUL prediction, this work provides a more accurate and powerful approach to managing and mitigating decision risk.
Abstract: Reverse logistics has emerged as a promising strategy for enhancing environmental sustainability through remanufacturing, reusing, or recycling used components. It is crucial to pursue quality-driven decision-making for component recovery because quality is a dominant factor for component salvage value and its recoverability. To maximise the profit from component recovery, a quality-driven decision model was proposed in this study. Remaining useful life (RUL) was utilised as a measure of quality in the proposed model, where conditional RUL distribution was predicted by utilising both the failure data and condition monitoring data based on a proportional hazard model. Under RUL uncertainty, an interval decision-making approach was developed to suggest recovery strategies for the decision-makers to identify a satisfactory solution according to their risk preferences. Compared to the existing approaches for quality-driven recovery decision-making based on RUL prediction, this work provides a more accurate an...

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a theoretical framework that explains how PAI influences buyers' cognitive and affective evaluations of their online shopping experiences, which in turn shapes their attitudes toward e-vendors' sites.
Abstract: Purpose This research posits that e-vendors can use product aesthetic information (PAI) as a strategic positing tool to shape consumers’ perceptions of e-vendors’ websites. Design/methodology/approach To test this framework, variations on a garment’s color (a crucial element of product aesthetics) are presented to four different treatment groups to determine whether aesthetic treatment influences the perception of the website. Findings The results suggest that consumers who consider a product visually appealing also perceive the e-vendor’s website as useful, resulting in enjoyment of the shopping experience. Positive perceptions lead consumers to form positive attitudes toward the vendor’s website. Originality/value While product aesthetics is well-studied in marketing and psychology, its relevance to the e-commerce domain is relatively underexplored. To fill the void, the paper proposes a theoretical framework that explains how PAI influences buyers’ cognitive and affective evaluations of their online shopping experiences, which in turn shapes their attitudes toward e-vendors’ sites.

TL;DR: The results obtained using a survey-based methodology from three main public and private institutions distributed in multiple geographical areas show that the actual behaviour of usage is influenced by behavioural intention (BI), which is directed by PU, PEU, and attitude.
Abstract: This study explores students’ acceptance of e-learning technology in Jordanian higher educational institutions. A paucity of studies that were conducted in individual institutions indicated that different cultural perspectives and resistance to change are overlaying the wide adoption of e-learning and influencing users’ perceptions pertaining the technology usefulness and/or ease of use. Our study utilises the technology acceptance model (TAM) and explores the influence of the main antecedents of accepting this technology from users’ perspectives, that is, perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEU) in order to reveal the country’s readiness to adopt this technology and move from individual innovations to institutional standards. The results obtained using a survey-based methodology from three main public and private institutions distributed in multiple geographical areas show that the actual behaviour of usage is influenced by behavioural intention (BI), which is directed by PU, PEU, and attitude. Based on these results, multiple recommendations pertaining to cultural perspectives and educational institutions readiness are proposed and implications of the study are discussed.

TL;DR: This work posits a framework that describes how user behavior is related to visibility awareness, trust in a social networking site information, and awareness of various features of the technology and acknowledges the value of the impression management framework.
Abstract: The growth of social networking sites in the last few years has changed the pattern of its utility thereby providing yet another new social phenomenon Of particular interest is the intention of recruiting managers to use social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace to conduct background checks on prospective job candidates Also, school authorities and law enforcement officials have occasionally used evidence gleaned from a user's Facebook account to trace or confirm evidence of criminal activities This research contributes to the existing literature by extending existing theory that integrates the theoretical framework of digital impression management with trust in the accuracy of digital information using nine independent variables: visibility indicator, SNS information currency, visibility awareness, technology awareness, impression motivation, SNS information quality, information objectivity, information relevance, and SNS information trustworthiness to predict a dependent variable, impression construction The authors developed the proposed model based on the existing literature Using Impression Management Theory, and Trust in Digital Information Theory, this work posits a framework that describes how user behavior is related to visibility awareness, trust in a social networking site information, and awareness of various features of the technology The implications of this study emphasize the value of the impression management framework and attempts to explain the very complex human behavior in an online platform The authors of this research acknowledge limitations This study does not consider whether impression management in the context of online social interactions results in perceived resonant or discordant realities of the actors creating the impression for the target audience, which is outside the scope of this research Future research will test this posited model
