Heavy metal toxicity: An update of chelating therapeutic strategies

TL;DR: Heavy metal poisoning is a common health problem because of mining, smelting, industrial, agricultural and sewage waste, but it can be efficiently excreted from the body following treatment with proper chelation agents.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanistic Insights of the Interaction of Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) With Plant Roots Toward Enhancing Plant Productivity by Alleviating Salinity Stress.

TL;DR: It is believed that acquisition of advanced knowledge of plant-beneficial PGPR will help in devising strategies for sustainable, environment-friendly, and climate-smart agricultural technologies for adoption in agriculture to overcome the constrained environmental conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

A study of dose response and organ susceptibility of copper toxicity in a rat model.

TL;DR: In rats, chronic oral copper sulphate exposure at subtoxic level results in neurobehavioral abnormality and liver and kidney dysfunctions due to increased Cu concentration in the respective organs due to increasing dose and duration of exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Plant-Based Phytochemicals as Possible Alternative to Antibiotics in Combating Bacterial Drug Resistance

TL;DR: The present study focuses on the mechanisms by which PDSs help overcome the surge in resistance, approaches for screening different phytochemicals, methods employed in the identification of bioactive components and their testing and strategies that could be adopted for counteracting the lethal consequences of multidrug resistance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Worsening of Wilson disease following penicillamine therapy.

TL;DR: In the deteriorating group, withdrawal of penicillamine resulted in improvement/stabilization in 11 patients, 2 improved by trientine therapy and 4 continued to deteriorate till 3 months, 30.2% patients with WD deteriorated following penicillsamine, especially those with chronic liver disease, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia.
