TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated how female athletes negotiate and reconcile the social expectations surrounding femininity with athleticism, and found that women in sportswomen live in two cultures: the sport culture that is inherently masculine and larger social culture where femininity is celebrated for women.

The Mental Readiness Form as a Measure of Competitive State Anxiety
TL;DR: In this article, the validity of the Mental Readiness Form (MRF) was evaluated with male and female athletes, and the results indicated moderate to strong correlations between corresponding CSAI-2 subscales and MRF items, supporting its concurrent validity.
