An analytical model for churn process in Bitcoin network with ordinary and relay nodes

TL;DR: This paper analyzes node churn in Bitcoin network where ordinary nodes generate transaction traffic and distribute and verify blocks, while relay nodes that just distribute blocks, but have a larger number of connections have a higher impact on traffic performance than that of ordinary nodes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Building multicluster 802.15.4 networks: issues and open problems

TL;DR: The most important aspects of building multicluster 802.15.4 networks are highlighted, some of the design alternatives for implementing the bridging function are reviewed, and their pertinent properties in terms of ease of scheduling, performance, scalability, and security are discussed.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Bluetooth scatternet with a master/slave bridge: a queueing theoretic analysis

TL;DR: A Bluetooth scatternet with two piconets linked through a master/slave (MS) bridge using a queueing theoretic approach is analyzed, extracting analytical results for the probability distribution of access delay and end-to-end delay, for both intra- and inter-piconet bursty traffic.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prioritization of Overflow Tasks to Improve Performance of Mobile Cloud

TL;DR: This paper presents two mechanisms which use prioritization: one in which forked tasks are given full priority over newly arrived tasks, and another in which a threshold is established to control the priority so that full priority is given to the forked task if their number exceeds a predefined threshold.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adapting LTE/LTE-A to M2M and D2D Communications

TL;DR: An overlay network that allows M2M devices to access the network without going through the full handshake is described, and it is shown that the overlay provides much improved performance for M 2M traffic, especially when the transmission power of M1M devices is slightly increased to combat the overload condition.
