Ensemble flood forecasting based on operational forecasts of the regional Eta EPS in the Taquari-Antas basin Previsão de cheias por conjunto a partir de previsões operacionais do EPS regional Eta na bacia do Taquari-Antas/RS
TL;DR: In this paper, the quality of ensemble flood forecasts on Taquari-Antas basin and its potential to provide additional information to a local Flood Alert System was evaluated. And the results indicated that there is a benefit in having hydrological ensemble forecasts obtained from the high-resolution meteorological EPS Eta model, which can be used as a complementary information to the local flood alert system supporting pre-alert issues and Civil Defense internal planning actions.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Modeling Assessment of Large-Scale Hydrologic Alteration in South American Pantanal Due to Upstream Dam Operation
Pedro Frediani Jardim,Maria Marcella Medeiros Melo,Larissa de Castro Ribeiro,Walter Collischonn,Adriano Rolim da Paz +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors applied a modeling approach to evaluate the changes in hydrological regime caused by the Manso dam operation in the Pantanal region of South America.
Journal ArticleDOI
Avaliação de um método de propagação de cheias em rios com aproximação inercial das equações de Saint-Venant
Fernando Mainardi Fan,Paulo Rógenes Monteiro Pontes,Rodrigo Cauduro Dias de Paiva,Walter Collischonn +3 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present applicability tests of the inertial model numerical solution by an explicit scheme, aiming at future integration as a module of flow routing in hydrologic rainfall-runoff models.
Journal ArticleDOI
A New Scenario-Based Framework for Conflict Resolution in Water Allocation in Transboundary Watersheds
TL;DR: In this paper, a new scenario-based framework is proposed to improve the sustainability and equity of water allocation among two or more riparian countries in transboundary watersheds by considering a hydraulic/hydrologic model, a water-management model, and combining them with multi-criteria decision analysis.
