Journal Article

Effects of IL-13 on phenotype, cytokine production, and cytotoxic function of human monocytes. Comparison with IL-4 and modulation by IFN-gamma or IL-10.

TL;DR: Results indicate that IL-13 has anti-inflammatory and important immunoregulatory activities and no additive or synergistic effects of IL-4 and IL- 13 on human monocytes were observed, suggesting that these cytokines may share common receptor components.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interleukin 13, a T-cell-derived cytokine that regulates human monocyte and B-cell function.

TL;DR: The human and mouse proteins cause extensive morphological changes to human monocytes with an associated up-regulation of major histocompatibility complex class II antigens and the low-affinity receptor for immunoglobulin E (Fc epsilon RII or CD23).

Methods for purifying nucleic acids

TL;DR: In this paper, a scaleable process for producing pharmaceutical grade plasmid DNA, useful for gene therapy, is provided, using static mixers for lysing cells and precipitating debris, followed by centrifugation and ion exchange chromatography.

Human interleukin-13

TL;DR: In this article, nucleic acids encoding human IL-13, and purified proteins and fragments thereof are provided. Methods of using the compositions for both diagnostic and therapeutic utilities are provided, and Antibodies, both polyclonal and monoclonal, are also provided.

Methods for preparing polynucleotide transfection complexes

TL;DR: In this article, a dual-feed process for transfection complexes of polynucleotides and polycations, especially cationic lipids, suitable for delivering polyn nucleotides to cells is described.
