Rubber-like polymeric shape memory hybrids with repeatable heat-assisted, self-healing, and joule heating functions

TL;DR: In this paper, a heating-responsive shape memory hybrid, which is designed based on the working mechanism of a hybrid, is reported, and the fabricated hybrid is not only rubber-like from above to below their shape recovery temperature, but also has repeatable heat-assisted self-healing functionality.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sm-CeO2/Zeolite Bifunctional Catalyst for Direct and Highly Selective Conversion of Bioethanol to Propylene

TL;DR: A series of Sm-CeO2/Beta composites with various Beta contents were prepared by an incipient impregnation method, followed by calcination at 650 °C as discussed by the authors .
Journal ArticleDOI

Rapid Generation of Patient-specific Anatomical Models for Usage in Virtual Environment

TL;DR: This paper has successfully generated the anatomical models of the human liver and the gall bladder from real clinical CT scan data, demonstrating that it is efficient for real clinical applications which demand rapid turnaround time, such as for pre-surgical virtual training.
Journal ArticleDOI

Natural <3 nm Interbedded Gaps to Trap Target Molecules and Provide an Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy Method

TL;DR: In this paper , a liquid-liquid interface assembly method is used to construct a three-layer Ag nanoparticle film structure, wherein the nanoparticles between the adjacent upper and lower layers form natural smaller gaps of 1-3 nm.
Book ChapterDOI

Ambient Intelligence for Eldercare – the Nuts and Bolts: Sensor Data Acquisition, Processing and Activity Recognition Under Resource Constraints

TL;DR: This chapter provides examples of sensor data acquisition, processing and activity recognition systems that are necessary for ambient intelligence specifically applied to home care for the elderly.
