Hydrogenation of Carbon Dioxide is Promoted by a Task‐Specific Ionic Liquid
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of water and organic solvents on the ionic dissociation of ionic liquids.
TL;DR: It can be deduced that the organic solvents enhance the ionic association of the ILs, the effect depending on the solvent dielectric constant, while water promotes dissociation significantly due to its high dielectrics constant and its ability to form strong hydrogen bonds with the anions of theILs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of cyclic carbonates from epoxides and CO2 catalyzed by potassium halide in the presence of β-cyclodextrin
TL;DR: In this paper, a cycloaddition of CO2 with propylene oxide (PO) to propylene carbonate (PC) catalyzed by potassium halide (KCl, KBr, and KI) in the presence of β-cyclodextrin was studied at various conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Functional ionic liquid from biorenewable materials: synthesis and application as a catalyst in direct aldol reactions
TL;DR: In this article, a new room temperature ionic liquid (IL) (2-hydroxyethyl)-trimethyl-ammonium (S)-2-pyrrolidinecarboxylic acid salt ([Choline][Pro]) has been synthesized from biorenewable and nontoxic raw materials (choline chloride and l (−)-proline) in a simple and relative green route.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hydrogenation of CO2 to formic acid promoted by a diamine-functionalized ionic liquid.
TL;DR: The basic diamine-functionalized ionic liquid 1,3-di(N,N-dimethylaminoethyl)-2-methylimidazolium trifluoromethanesulfonate was prepared and used in the hydrogenation of CO(2) to formic acid.
