Clinical relevance of HEp-2 indirect immunofluorescent patterns: the International Consensus on ANA patterns (ICAP) perspective
Jan Damoiseaux,Luis Eduardo Coelho Andrade,Orlando Gabriel Carballo,Karsten Conrad,Paulo Luiz Carvalho Francescantonio,Marvin J. Fritzler,Ignacio García-De La Torre,Manfred Herold,Werner Klotz,Wilson de Melo Cruvinel,Tsuneyo Mimori,Carlos Alberto von Mühlen,Minoru Satoh,Edward K. L. Chan +13 more
TL;DR: The ICAP consensus is presented on the clinical relevance of the 29 distinct HEp-2 IIFA patterns: this clinical relevance is primarily defined within the context of the suspected disease and includes recommendations for follow-up testing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostic value of antibodies against a modified citrullinated vimentin in rheumatoid arthritis.
Christian Dejaco,Werner Klotz,Heike Larcher,Christina Duftner,Michael Schirmer,Manfred Herold +5 more
TL;DR: The serum ELISA testing for anti-MCV antibodies as well as the anti-CCP-2 assay perform comparably well in the diagnosis of RA, with a reduced specificity in the high-specificity range.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostic imaging of gout: comparison of high-resolution US versus conventional X-ray
Thomas Rettenbacher,Sybille Ennemoser,Harald G. Weirich,Hanno Ulmer,Frank Hartig,Werner Klotz,Manfred Herold +6 more
TL;DR: The data show that US often provided additional diagnostic information in patients with clinical suspicion of gout when laboratory findings and X-ray results were negative or inconclusive and should therefore be used in these cases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dead Shrimp Blues: A Global Assessment of Extinction Risk in Freshwater Shrimps (Crustacea: Decapoda: Caridea)
Sammy De Grave,Kevin G. Smith,Nils A. Adeler,Dave J. Allen,Fernando Alvarez,Arthur Anker,Yixiong Cai,Savrina F. Carrizo,Werner Klotz,Fernando L. Mantelatto,Timothy J. Page,Jhy-Yun Shy,José Luis Villalobos,Daisy Wowor +13 more
TL;DR: This first global assessment of extinction risk for a major group of freshwater invertebrates, caridean shrimps, finds that two species are extinct with a further 10 possibly extinct, and almost one third of species are either threatened or Near Threatened (NT).
Journal ArticleDOI
Two Asian fresh water shrimp species found in a thermally polluted stream system in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
TL;DR: The river Erft and its tributary Gillbach in western Germany are thermally polluted, and harbour exotic plant and animal species introduced by aquarium hobbyists, and the occurrence of two species of fresh water shrimp, Neocaridina davidi and Macrobrachium dayanum, is reported for the first time.
