Journal ArticleDOI
On the metabolic function of heparin-releasable liver lipase.
TL;DR: The results suggest that liver Lipase may promote phospholipid removal in vivo and show that a lowering of liver lipase in situ has profound consequences for serum lipoprotein metabolism.
Journal ArticleDOI
Morphological changes of heart muscle caused by successive perfusion with calcium-free and calcium-containing solutions (calcium paradox)
TL;DR: Perfusion of isolated rat hearts with a modified Tyrode solution followed by perfusion with a calcium-free perfusate results in an electromechanical dissociation and causes no significant morphological changes, however, reinstitution of calcium ions leads to gross morphologicalChanges, as shown by histological and electron-microscopical evidence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heparin-releasable (liver) lipase(s) may play a role in the uptake of cholesterol by steroid-secreting tissues

Journal ArticleDOI
Metabolic aspects of isolated cells from rat small intestinal epithelium.
TL;DR: Analysis of adenine nucleotide concentrations in intestinal mucosa revealed a high AMP+ADP to ATP concentration ratio, which could explain the high rate of aerobic glycolysis of rat small intestinal epithelium.
